Delete your account
This page is for users of the EduNexus mobile app (including EduNexus Student and EduNexus Teacher) published by EduNexus—the developer name shown on our Google Play listing. Here is how to request account deletion and what we do with your data.

How to request account deletion
Follow one of the methods below. We need to verify that the request comes from you or an authorized representative before we process it.

Open the EduNexus app and sign in
Use the same account (email or school-provided login) you used when you registered. - 2
Go to Profile or Settings
Open the main menu, then choose Profile, Account, or Settings—wording may vary slightly by app version or role (student vs teacher). - 3
Request deletion in the app
If you see “Delete account,” “Close account,” or “Request account deletion,” use that option and confirm. If your screen does not show this yet, use the email method in step 4. - 4
Or email us (always available)
Send an email from the address associated with your account to privacy@edunexus.in with the subject line EduNexus account deletion request. Include your full name, the email or phone number on the account, and your school or organization name if applicable. This helps us locate and verify your account.
What happens after you request deletion
We will confirm receipt when the request is tied to a verifiable email. We then disable access to your account and queue personal data associated with that user account for deletion, subject to the exceptions below. Simple requests are typically completed within 30 days of verification; complex cases (e.g. disputes or multiple linked records) may take longer, and we will inform you if we need additional time.
Data we delete
When your deletion request is approved and processed, we aim to remove or irreversibly anonymize personal data tied to your user account, including where applicable:
- Account profile and identity details (name, username, avatar)
- Contact information stored on the account (email, phone)
- Authentication credentials and app-specific preferences for that account
- Personal content you uploaded solely for your own use where it is not required to be retained for the school or for legal reasons
Data we may keep and why
Some information may be retained for a limited time or in a limited form after account deletion:
- School and academic records: If your account was created or managed by a school, certain attendance, grades, or administrative records may remain with the institution as part of their official records. Those are controlled by the school’s policies and legal obligations, not only by app deletion.
- Legal, security, and compliance: We may retain minimal records where required by law (for example tax, fraud prevention, or regulatory obligations) or to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
- Aggregated or de-identified data: We may keep statistics that cannot reasonably be linked back to you.
- Backups: Residual copies in encrypted backups may persist for up to 90 days before being overwritten according to our backup rotation. After that window, those copies should no longer contain restorable personal data tied to your deleted account except where law requires longer retention.
